We're seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Manager to join our team. As a key player in executing our growth strategy, you'll drive business development opportunities across assessment sectors, focusing on acquiring new customers in various market segments.

Job Purpose

You'll report directly to the Head of Global Growth Solutions, overseeing the execution of our growth strategy across the assessment sector. Your primary focus will be on driving potential new customers across market sectors, managing a team of up to 4 Business Development Managers, and owning the sales process.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Business Development Opportunities: You'll lead and drive deals for RM Assessment, accountable for developing solutions that generate both revenue and growth profit. Deal sizes will range between £500k-£10m in total contract value, with a target profitability margin of greater than 50%.
  2. Total alignment with relevant business leaders for which the 'deals' form part of their growth pipeline. Collaborate on strategies for growth, win themes, and relationships to deliver sustained and long-term growth success within prospective deal customers.
  3. Growth pipeline management and accountability for ensuring the CRM platform is fully informed of all opportunities as they progress.
  4. Ensure full collaboration across the RM Assessment business teams at all times.
  5. Financial and Commercial: You'll be fully accountable for the customer portfolio and costs associated with tendering for all new opportunities of any size and priority. Understand financial & commercial risks and opportunities for each opportunity.
  6. Lead and drive financial and commercial acumen across the teams.
  7. Maintain a clear view of the financial performance (actual and forecast) of all elements of the portfolio.
  8. Team Leadership and Management: Line manage a team of up to 4 Business Development Managers.
  9. Manage and allocate work across the team based on regions/fields of play.
  10. Coach and mentor talent in the team.
  11. Support team members in navigating cross-business dimensions and challenges.
  12. Process, Controls, and Governance: Be an active member of business unit governance meetings and reporting.
  13. Embed the business unit governance model for the account portfolio.
  14. Strong experience of leading and delivering successful deals that generate total contract value growth of up to £10m.
  15. Ability to develop and manage business relationships at all levels.
  16. Organisational planning, resource mobilisation, and problem-solving abilities.
  17. Creative solutions to customer priorities and objectives.
