Nursery Educator Role

We are seeking an experienced Nursery Educator to join our team in West Yorkshire. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for supporting the development of young children in our care.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with children. You will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging activities that support learning through play, fostering social skills, and ensuring the well-being of each child.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate educational programmes that cater to the individual needs of children.
  • Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all children.
  • Observe and assess children's development, documenting their progress and planning next steps.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to build strong relationships.
  • Manage classroom behaviour with positive reinforcement strategies.
  • Lead group activities that encourage teamwork and cooperation among children.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the nursery space, ensuring all health and safety regulations are followed.
  • Collaborate with other educators to share best practices and enhance the overall learning experience.

Requirements:

  • A PGCE/QTS is required.
  • A qualification in Early Childhood Education or a related field is essential.
  • Previous experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is highly desirable.
  • A strong knowledge of the EYFS framework.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities to manage small groups of children effectively.
  • A proactive approach to driving children's engagement through creative play and structured activities.
  • An understanding of child development principles and the ability to apply them in practice.
  • A familiarity with BSL/Makaton is advantageous.
