Job Title: Medical Records Administrator

Job Type: Part Time

Hours: 30 hours per week

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract

Location: Cardiff

We are seeking an experienced Medical Records Administrator to join our team in our busy Medical Records department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation, tracking, and accurate storage of all medical records for the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of medical records for outpatient clinics, pre-assessment, and admissions
  • Preparation of files for storage and archiving
  • Providing records or information on request
  • Filing, photocopying, and dealing with telephone enquiries
  • Inputting of data as required
  • Effective transportation of medical records to relevant departments
  • Filing incoming reports and correspondence into patient records
  • Ensuring meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
  • Operating within Data Protection Act legislation and data protection policies

Requirements:

  • Highly organised and accurate with the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Previous experience in a medical records department and knowledge of the healthcare industry
  • Proficient in the use of a PC, including Microsoft, Outlook, and Excel software
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Comfortable with the physical element of the role
  • Customer service experience
