About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Flood Risk Consultant to join our Water and Environment North team at Waterman Aspen. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing expert advice on flood risk management and infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement flood risk management strategies for our clients, ensuring compliance with UK legislation and planning standards.
  • Conduct hydraulic modeling and drainage analysis using industry-leading software, such as Flood Modeller TUFLOW and MicroDrainage.
  • Prepare business cases for flood risk management schemes, securing funding through the Flood Defence Grant in Aid (FDGiA) program.
  • Collaborate with public sector clients, including Local Authorities and the Environment Agency, to deliver successful projects.
  • Provide expert advice on project management and infrastructure development, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues, promoting a culture of mutual respect and dignity.
Requirements
  • Relevant degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Geography, or equivalent.
  • Chartered membership or working towards chartered membership of a professional institution, such as CIWEM, ICE, or APM.
  • Technical experience in UK flood risk legislation and planning standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and deliver positive outcomes.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Chartered membership of a relevant professional organization.
