About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our team as a Locality Clinical Lead. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the assessment, formulation, and intervention plans for children and families within our Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs).

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical psychology and experience working with children and young people presenting with mental health difficulties. They will also possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with schools, parents, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To oversee the assessment, formulation, and intervention plans for children and families supported by the MHSTs.
  • To work in partnership with schools to support children and families in the context of mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
  • To undertake accurate assessments of risk to self and others.
  • To design, adapt, and modify clinical materials to meet the needs of different clinical populations.
  • To provide joint specialist mental health assessments and interventions for schools, parents, and children with EMHP supervisees.

Person Specification:

  • A current and in-date core professional registration in Clinical/Educational/Counselling Psychologist, CBT Therapist, or Family Therapist.
  • Professional training in an evidence-based therapeutic approach applicable to working with children and young people and their families.
  • Experience of working with children and young people and their families presenting with a range of mental health difficulties and challenging behaviour.
  • Experience of whole school approaches to emotional wellbeing and mental health.
