Child Protection Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child Protection Specialist to join our team as a Senior Practitioner in the Emergency Duty Service. This is a permanent, full-time role working as a fixed-base worker. The successful candidate will work outside of normal hours, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
The role involves conducting emergency assessments under the Mental Health Act and providing stability during crisis situations. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults. As a Senior Practitioner, you will be responsible for empowering children and their carers for full participation, and providing support and reassurance during emergency situations.
The ideal candidate will have a Social Work Degree or equivalent, and be registered with Social Work England. They will also need to be qualified as an Approved Mental Health Professional under the 1983 Mental Health Act (as amended), and have experience working with children and families, preferably in child protection investigations.
The key responsibilities include conducting emergency assessments, providing support and reassurance during emergency situations, empowering children and their carers for full participation, and working with multi-agency systems for assessment and care management.
The salary for this position is estimated at £53,174 per annum, which includes a 15% flat rate allowance based on basic salary and a £2,400 AMHP payment.
