About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Support Worker to join our team at Exceptional Care, a therapeutic children's service providing care and support to children and young people aged 8-17 with complex backgrounds and challenging behaviors.

As a Senior Support Worker, you will be responsible for leading and planning your team on shift, mentoring and supporting new team members, and taking responsibility for supervision of staff. You will also act as a Key worker for a specified individual young person, taking on responsibility for specified areas of care and support, including ensuring all medical needs are met and supporting the young person to advocate their own needs and wishes.

You will provide a high standard of care and support to vulnerable young people with challenging behavior and emotional behavioral difficulties, attending to their practical, physical, and emotional needs. You will also assist the Manager and Deputies in ensuring that each young person has their needs met through effective assessment and care planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and plan your team on shift, mentoring and supporting new team members
  • Take responsibility for supervision of staff and act as a Key worker for a specified individual young person
  • Ensure all medical needs are met and support the young person to advocate their own needs and wishes
  • Assist the Manager and Deputies in ensuring that each young person has their needs met through effective assessment and care planning

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 or 4 Children and Young Peoples Workforce or equivalent
  • 2 years' experience supporting young people in a children's residential setting
  • Full UK Manual Driving Licence (preferred)
