Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Youth Mentor to support young people with learning disabilities in our youth clubs and projects. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with young people aged 11-19 years, providing guidance, support, and opportunities for personal growth.

About the Role

  • Work with young people in a youth club setting, encouraging their participation and involvement in planning and running activities.
  • Build positive relationships with young people, listening to their needs and concerns, and providing support and guidance as required.
  • Be flexible and adaptable in your work, with the ability to work evenings and occasional weekends, as well as working from different sites.

Requirements

  • A good understanding of anti-discriminatory practice and the empowerment of young people.
  • The ability to be open-minded and challenge inappropriateness in a young person's behavior or language.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with young people and colleagues.
