Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Call Handler to join our team at Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear (CNTW) NHS Foundation Trust. As a Call Handler, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service to our patients and their families, ensuring that they receive a positive and seamless experience throughout their interaction with our service.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide a high level of sensitivity and professionalism while handling calls from patients, carers, and professionals.
  • Act as a liaison between patients and the clinical team to ensure that all calls are dealt with efficiently and signposted appropriately.
  • Utilize a high level of communication and interpersonal skills to engage with service users, carers, and colleagues.
  • Ensure that all clinical information is effectively communicated and documented within the electronic patient records system as per agreed CNTW Trust standards.
  • Participate in the continuous development of the service and contribute positively to the team.
Requirements
  • NVQ 3 in Care, Customer Care, or Business Administration, or commitment to work towards.
  • General level of education to O-Level/GCSE or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good organisational and planning skills.
  • Flexible attitude to cope with fluctuating workloads and the occasional requirement to cover other areas in cases of staff absence.
  • Excellent customer service skills and confident telephone manner.
