Livewell Southwest is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Peer Support Worker to join our team. As a Peer Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with mental health needs to achieve their recovery goals.
Main Responsibilities- Provide peer support and practical assistance to service users and their carers to empower them to regain control over their lives and build connections with their local communities.
- Work across the adult inpatient pathway and VCSE, supporting service users to transition between services.
- Act as a recovery champion across mental health services pathways and act as an ambassador of recovery for the Trust with external agencies and partner organisations.
- Participate in the on-going development of the role and contribute to the continued development of the PSW training programme.
- Lived experience of using mental health services.
- Previous care experience with people who have mental health difficulties.
- Basic IT skills and good communication and listening skills.
- Organisational skills and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team effectively and take leadership and direction from qualified staff.
- Protected CPD time for registered staff.
- Variety of development pathways and ongoing regular training packages for all staff.
- Leadership and mentoring programmes.
- Access and funding for training, including Care Certificate, Assistant Practitioners Course, and Scholarship Into Nurse Training.
- A robust preceptorship and a bespoke induction programme.
