GP Training Programme Director Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a GP Training Programme Director. This is a permanent position, working 2 sessions per week in Exeter.

The role of GP Training Programme Director is focused on improving learner supervision, assessment, educational experience, and outcomes for GP trainees. You will work closely with other local Training Programme Directors and administrators to facilitate the provision of half-day release courses for GPs in training.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the provision of education for General Practice trainees in the Exeter GP training programme
  • Working with GP educational supervisors and local Primary Care Networks to support GP training across the geographical footprint of the patch
  • Delivering and overseeing projects and workstreams to support doctors in training and practice-based educators
  • Providing induction, one-to-one support, small group work, and being an escalation point for both educators and DiTs

You will be based mainly within the Exeter programme and will involve working at the Royal Devon University hospital site. There may also be some requirement to support other GP training programmes across the county and South West.
