Job Summary

The Specialty Training Programme Director for Cardiology will play a key role in leading the delivery of educational functions within the Peninsula School, working closely with the Head of School for Medicine to align with the NHS England mandate and long-term workforce plan.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of education and training, with experience in working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context. They will also possess excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others.

Main Duties of the Job

The ideal candidate will be responsible for improving learner supervision, assessment, and experience, as well as engaging faculty and ensuring effective educational outcomes. They will also work closely with the Head of School to develop and implement strategies to improve the health of the population and reduce health inequalities.

Job Responsibilities

The Specialty Training Programme Director will be responsible for working closely with the Head of School to develop and implement strategies to improve the health of the population and reduce health inequalities. They will also be responsible for engaging faculty and ensuring effective educational outcomes, as well as improving learner supervision, assessment, and experience.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a primary clinical healthcare qualification, attendance at courses aimed at supporting educational development, and experience of working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context. They will also possess demonstrable leadership skills and an ability to influence and motivate others.
