Job Summary

The Specialty Training Programme Director will play a key role in leading the delivery of educational functions within the Peninsula School, working closely with the Head of School for Medicine to align with the NHS England mandate and long-term workforce plan.

Main Duties

The ideal candidate will be an experienced clinician with a strong understanding of education and training, possessing excellent leadership and communication skills to work effectively within a multi-professional team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of educational functions within the Peninsula School
  • Work closely with the Head of School for Medicine to align with the NHS England mandate and long-term workforce plan
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve learner supervision, assessment, and experience
  • Engage faculty and ensure effective educational outcomes
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Primary clinical healthcare qualification
  • Attendance at courses aimed at supporting educational development
  • Considerable experience of working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context
  • Demonstrable track record of delivery in service and education
  • Demonstrable leadership skills and ability to influence and motivate others
