Job Title: GP Training Programme Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced GP Training Programme Director to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of general practice education and training.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of high-quality education and training programs for GP trainees. This will involve working closely with our team of educational supervisors, clinical educators, and other stakeholders to ensure that our programs meet the needs of our learners and the wider healthcare community.

You will be expected to have a strong understanding of current primary care issues, as well as excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. A proven track record of delivery in service and education is essential, as is a commitment to engaging learners with high-quality education and exploring opportunities for innovative delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and delivery of high-quality education and training programs for GP trainees
  • Work closely with educational supervisors, clinical educators, and other stakeholders to ensure program quality and relevance
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local healthcare organizations and stakeholders to support GP training and education
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making recommendations for improvement as needed
  • Stay up-to-date with current primary care issues and developments, applying this knowledge to inform program design and delivery
Person Specification
  • General practitioner with MRCGP
  • Attendance at courses aimed to support educational development (example: educator courses, Train the Trainer, etc.)
  • Innovative and inclusive approach to delivering high-quality education
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, written, and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of adult educational theory and practice
