About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Operations Manager to join our team at Altrad Sparrows. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing and supporting the delivery of safe and effective cable and pipelay system projects.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide technical, operational, and business support for Cable and Pipe Lay Systems (CPLS), improving project planning, execution, and delivery.
  • Set standards and expectations for site-based technicians, ensuring they follow best practices from pre-mob briefs to validation of operation and maintenance execution.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to the business development team, project controls, and engineering teams to deliver right-first-time operations and maintenance.
  • Lead by example, adopting a continuous improvement attitude towards operations and maintenance execution and delivery.
  • Complete operations and maintenance audits across the fleet of equipment and sites to ensure standards are met.
  • Lead After Action Reviews (AARs) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to capture lessons learned and mitigate recurrence.
  • Identify training needs of workshop and site-based technicians to enhance their skill set.
  • Interface with internal discipline support teams and the wider Sparrows organization to deliver a comprehensive Cable and Pipe Lay System service.
  • Interface with internal and external clients to ensure a professional service is provided.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Significant experience in cable and pipelay systems, with a strong understanding of operations and maintenance.
  • Adequate onshore engineering experience to support the role requirements.
  • Excellent technical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
