Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Personal Assistant for a Senior Role to join our team at Southwark Cathedral. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Dean and other senior members of the team, ensuring that their schedules are managed effectively and that they have access to the information they need.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Dean's diary, including making appointments and scheduling meetings;
  • Prepare meeting papers and briefs for the week ahead;
  • Provide general administrative assistance, including ordering stationery and office equipment;
  • Co-ordinate staff meetings and events;
  • Assist with the processing of expenses;
  • Work with the Governance & Committees Manager on Gifts Registry declarations.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times;
  • Strong writing skills;
  • Proficient with MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint;
  • Well organised, with good prioritisation skills;
  • Able to take ownership of tasks and complete them with minimal supervision.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £31,000 per annum, plus benefits including 25 days annual leave, statutory bank holidays, and an additional day at Christmas. The appointment is subject to the satisfactory completion of a six-month probationary period.
