About the Role

As a key member of our Wellbeing team, the post-holder will provide proactive and effective wellbeing support to Birketts LLP employees, delivering occupational health services that contribute to a healthy and productive work environment.

Working closely with our Wellbeing Nurse, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive advice to line managers, HR colleagues, and employees on fitness for work and necessary adjustments, as well as reviewing pre-employment health questionnaires and guiding the HR team on medical concerns.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide confidential advice to line managers, HR colleagues, and employees on fitness for work and necessary adjustments.
  2. Review pre-employment health questionnaires and provide guidance on medical concerns to the HR team.
  3. Completion of the first stage of annual medical screening process for senior staff based in Ipswich.
  4. Provide appointments to discuss physical or mental health-related issues and discuss options for support.
  5. Provide signposting to relevant options for support and promote internal support options, including our employee assistance programme and private medical insurance scheme.
  6. Assist with staff referrals to our external Occupational Health Doctor.
  7. Attend team meetings to highlight the service and overall importance of health and wellbeing.
  8. Assist with the development and implementation of our firm-wide wellbeing strategy and ongoing initiatives.
  9. Monitoring and reporting of common themes or areas for concern.
  10. Provide ad hoc promotions, such as mole checking, BMI checks, and blood pressure checks.
  11. Compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks.

  2. To build relationships with employees and Partners to encourage trust, while listening to and interpreting their needs and concerns.
  3. To show initiative when responding to queries and actively try to seek solutions to problems.
  4. To support staff with their concerns and offer avenues for support.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Experience in delivering corporate occupational health services and health assessments.
  2. NMC registration as an adult nurse or registration in progress.
  3. Mental Health First Aid Training (preferably completed).
  4. Phlebotomy skills are preferred but not essential.
