We are seeking a highly skilled Academic Research Fellow in Public Health to join our team at SONICOM.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of public health research methods and statistics, teamwork and leadership skills, and influencing the wider determinants of health.

As a Senior Teaching Fellow, you will be responsible for supporting curriculum development, creating teaching materials, establishing assessment and monitoring processes, delivering teaching, and assessing the curriculum.

You will also oversee the recruitment and coordination of community research projects and support project supervisors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting the development of curricula, learning materials, and assessments that promote deep learning in students with various learning styles.
  • Planning, designing, and developing curricula, learning materials, and/or assessments that promote deep learning in students with various learning styles.
  • Overseeing the recruitment and coordination of community research projects and supporting project supervisors.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An MSc or PhD in public health, behavioural science, or similar, and demonstrable expertise in public health research methods and statistics.
  • Evidence of teaching experience in public health research methods and statistics, quality improvement, and influencing the wider determinants of health through a range of teaching styles and formats.
  • Evidence of practical experience in applying public health research methods and statistics, quality improvement, and/or influencing the wider determinants of health.
  • A good understanding of relevant educational theory and good practice relating to student learning, teaching, assessment, and course design in a relevant discipline in Higher Education.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including 39 days off a year and a generous pension scheme.
