Senior FPGA Verification Engineer

This is a senior-level position within the Ultra I&C Cyber business, responsible for building a new Verification Team.
Scope:
Design, develop, and institute verification methodologies for FPGA firmware as part of our firmware engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform analysis of system and firmware level requirements.
- Apply best and pragmatic practices in developing verification methodologies.
- Implement test procedures for FPGA firmware.
- Review and understand requirements to produce firmware test specifications.
- Ensure test procedures and processes are compatible with project and firmware groups continuous integration systems.
- Undertake integration activities with software and hardware.
- Propose improvements in tools, processes, and techniques.
- Actively contribute to project aspects to achieve optimal balance between requirements, schedule, and cost.
- Contribute to customer-facing meetings through document preparation, presentations, and participation.
- Estimate time and effort required for firmware activities.
- Manage security of information as defined in the Security manual.
Security Clearance Requirements:
SC and DV Clearance are required.
Qualifications / Skills Required:
- Essential:
- Degree in engineering, mathematical, or science-based subject or equivalent experience.
- Experience of FPGA design verification, test tools, and design for test.
- Experience of using Xilinx, Lattice, Altera, or Microsemi FPGAs and their associated development tool chains.
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand hardware schematics.
- Experience of version control, change control, and bug tracking tools and systems.
- Desirable:
- Experience of/exposure to best practice firmware verification processes/lifecycles.
- Experience of/exposure to continuous integration and automated test tools and frameworks.
- Exposure to development standards for defence, space, or air worthiness techniques and standards such as MISRA.
- Experience of requirements management tools such as DOORS and Enterprise Architect.
