Support Worker for Young Person with Autism

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Support Worker to join our team at UKCIL. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to a young person with Autism, social and communication difficulties, sensory processing, and severe learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care support, including toileting, dressing, and assistance with feeding
  • Accompany the young person to local community activities, such as parks and walks
  • Support the young person with social and communication skills, including speech, language, and communication
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as meal preparation and household chores
  • Provide emotional support and stability to the young person

Requirements

  • Experience working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Knowledge of SEN strategies, including thinking, understanding, and learning, emotional and behavioural difficulties, speech, language, and communication, sensory and/or physical difficulties
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekday evenings and weekends
  • Full UK driving license and own personal car
