Job Title: Support Worker for Young Person with Autism

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team and provide support to a young person with Autism in the Pudsey area of Leeds.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will provide personal care and support to the young person, enabling them to access community activities and develop their independence. This will involve supporting with personal care needs, such as toileting, dressing, and feeding, as well as accompanying them to local parks and walks.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and will possess a good understanding of strategies to support individuals with Autism, sensory processing difficulties, and learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care and support to the young person, including toileting, dressing, and feeding
  • Accompany the young person to local community activities, such as parks and walks
  • Support the young person to develop their independence and access community activities
  • Work flexibly on mostly weekday evenings, with some weekend work required
  • Have a good understanding of strategies to support individuals with Autism, sensory processing difficulties, and learning disabilities
Requirements:
  • Experience of working with children and young people with SEN
  • Good understanding of strategies to support individuals with Autism, sensory processing difficulties, and learning disabilities
  • Ability to work flexibly on mostly weekday evenings, with some weekend work required
  • Full UK driving license and own personal car
