Job Opportunity at The Manchester College

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Safeguarding Practitioner to join our Student Support and Foundation Learning Department at our Openshaw Campus.

About the Role

As a Safeguarding Practitioner, you will be a key member of our TMC Cross-College Safeguarding Team, providing timely and effective safeguarding support and interventions for students in need of protection.

You will work closely with the Safeguarding Lead to manage and respond to safeguarding alerts, disclosures, and referrals, as well as provide advice, guidance, and support to colleagues within the college.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safeguarding support and interventions for students in need of protection
  • Work with the Safeguarding Lead to manage and respond to safeguarding alerts, disclosures, and referrals
  • Provide advice, guidance, and support to colleagues within the college
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure effective safeguarding practices
Requirements
  • Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in a relevant subject (Coaching, Mentoring, Teaching, or Social/Youth Work)
  • Hold Level 2 qualification in English and Maths
  • Experience of providing safeguarding and/or welfare support to children, young people, or vulnerable adults
  • Experience of working or volunteering with Young People and/or Vulnerable Adults
