The Safeguarding Team is a progressive team that provides support, knowledge, and experience, ensuring the Trust meets its responsibilities to our patients for the safeguarding and protection of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.

It is important to note that while the post includes the safeguarding of children and young people, the role is predominantly supporting adult safeguarding.

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing specialist advice to our staff, services and service users on safeguarding issues and concerns. The Team is a point of contact for raising concerns when it is believed a child, young person, or adult is at risk of abuse. The role requires excellent partnership working with the relevant Local Authorities and other Multi Agency Partners to ensure children, young people, and adults at risk are protected and safeguarded.

The post also includes supporting staff in adherence to the Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Framework, PREVENT, domestic violence (including MARAC), proportionate restrictions, best interest decisions.

Working as a senior member of the Safeguarding and Dementia Team, the post holder will be expected to provide clinical expertise and knowledge, demonstrating a sound understanding of issues related to the Mental Capacity Act (MCA), Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLs), and The Children Act.
