About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Nurse Specialist in Safeguarding Children to join our team at the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our safeguarding team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legislation and statutory guidance.
  • Work closely with the Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children to embed safeguarding practices across the organisation.
  • Provide supervision and advice to clinicians and other staff to ensure children are safeguarded.
  • Represent the Trust in multi-agency partnerships and forums to safeguard children.
  • Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives to ensure safeguarding practices are effective and efficient.
Requirements
  • NMC Registered Midwife, Children or Adult Nurse.
  • Substantial safeguarding experience at Band 6 or above.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
