Professor and Director of Research

Child sexual exploitation and abuse is a pressing global issue that requires a comprehensive and evidence-driven response. However, the lack of reliable data and analysis hinders the development of effective prevention and response strategies. This post offers a unique opportunity to provide senior research leadership and drive forward the European Hub for Childlight, focusing on data partnerships, prevalence estimates, and impact in the region. The successful candidate will also contribute to global data projects as needed.
Your Skills and Attributes- An outstanding academic profile with a PhD in public health or a related field and a proven track record of internationally-excellent research in child sexual exploitation and abuse.
- Expertise in child sexual exploitation and abuse epidemiological research with a demonstrable impact in the European region.
- Leadership experience in research and attracting funding as a principal investigator of research grants and knowledge exchange through effective public engagement.
- An excellent portfolio of high-quality research publications in child protection research that display research excellence.
- Proven experience working with child protection system actors, including police, health, and other stakeholders.
- A passion for making a positive impact and preventing child sexual exploitation and abuse.
- A competitive salary of Grade UE10: £75,498 – £88,601 per annum.
