Job Opportunity: Director of the European Hub for Childlight

The University of Edinburgh is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of Director of the European Hub for Childlight. This role will provide senior research leadership through a Professorial Chair position and serve as the Director of the European Hub for Childlight, focusing on growing and improving data partnerships, prevalence estimates, and impact in the region.

About the Role:

  • Lead research initiatives and projects related to child sexual exploitation and abuse, with a focus on the European region.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders, including child protection system actors, to advance research and policy goals.
  • Attract and manage research funding, including grants and other sources, to support research initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement knowledge exchange strategies, including public engagement and outreach.
  • Contribute to the development of research publications, including papers, reports, and other materials.

Requirements:

  • PhD in a relevant field, such as public health, social or clinical epidemiology, or a related area.
  • Established track record of internationally-excellent research related to child sexual exploitation and abuse.
  • Experience in leadership roles, including research and knowledge exchange.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
