Job Description:

\

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced researcher to join our Protein Engineering team. As a Principal Research Scientist In Silico Biologics Design, you will be responsible for developing and assessing advanced machine learning models for novel antibody and TCR drug candidate optimization. You will also work closely with colleagues across Research to identify training data from the public domain and help shape the development of our in-house data sets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement advanced machine learning models for predicting protein-ligand binding affinity and optimizing TCR drug candidates.\
  • Analyze and interpret large-scale biological datasets to inform the design of novel TCR drugs.\
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate machine learning into TCR discovery and optimization.\
  • Promote utilization of ML algorithms among colleagues and mentor/train others in their deployment.\
  • Present research outcomes at all levels, including Protein Engineering lab meetings and external conferences.\
  • Contribute to the development of our in-house data sets and ensure their quality and integrity.\
  • Mentor junior researchers and provide guidance on best practices in machine learning and data analysis.\

Requirements:

  • \
  • PhD in Computational Biology, Computational Chemistry, Bioinformatics, or related discipline.\
  • Demonstrated expertise in machine learning, with a strong publication record.\
  • Advanced Python programming skills, focusing on data science and machine learning.\
  • Experience working with large-scale biological datasets and proficiency with data management software.\
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced research environment.\
  • Estimated salary range: £120,000 - £180,000 per annum, depending on experience.\
