Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Associate Editor to join our Science, Technology and Medical Journal (STMJ) division at Elsevier. As an Associate Editor, you will use scientific expertise and problem-solving skills to improve the author experience and help authors find a suitable home for their paper.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate content as a partner to external editors;
  • Engage closely with authors to help them improve their manuscripts;
  • Help authors increase their odds of success to be published in another journal if rejected from their first choice;
Requirements
  • A PhD in Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Health and Medical Sciences or Social Sciences (especially Economics);
  • Maintain a record of having published papers in scientific journals;
  • Stay technology savvy, familiar with online platforms, social media, and digital content;
  • Exhibit good communication skills and excellent written and spoken English;
  • Show broad scientific interest and a desire to serve and help customers in the scientific and clinical community, including authors, editors, and reviewers.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $100,000 - $130,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including:
