About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Partnerships Manager to join our team at Coatue Management L.L.C. This role will be responsible for developing and executing strategic partnerships with key players in the payments industry, with a focus on issuer outreach and relationship-building.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of payments business models, ecosystem dynamics, and the risk factors used by networks and issuers to make authorization decisions. They will also have experience negotiating commercial deals with banks and networks, including scaling such deals across multiple partners.

As a Strategic Partnerships Manager, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Legal, Finance, and Risk, to support initiatives and establish relationships with major players in the payments value chain. You will also be responsible for creating performance monitoring programs to track KPIs and developing strategies to quickly address opportunities to improve overall payments performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic partnerships with key players in the payments industry
  • Build relationships with issuer organizations and negotiate commercial deals
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support initiatives and establish relationships with major players in the payments value chain
  • Create performance monitoring programs to track KPIs and develop strategies to improve overall payments performance

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, corporate development or related field
  • 5+ years of experience related to payments, card networks and/or financial services
  • Thorough understanding of payments business models, ecosystem dynamics, and the risk factors used by networks and issuers to make authorization decisions
  • Experience negotiating commercial deals with banks and networks, including scaling such deals across multiple partners
