We are seeking an experienced and skilled school caretaker to join our Primary school in Telford as a key member of our facilities team.

As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for the general site maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of our school premises. This includes ensuring that all areas of the school are clean and well-maintained, conducting regular inspections, and reporting any necessary repairs or maintenance work to the relevant authorities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the school including classrooms, corridors, playgrounds, and other external areas
  • Ensuring specified maintenance is carried out regularly, including cleaning tasks and inspections
  • Performing various cleaning tasks and inspections throughout the school day
  • Reporting and recording any repairs and ensuring they are carried out safely and timely
  • Conducting fire alarm testing and other safety checks
  • Opening and locking premises securely
  • Holding an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Online Update Service

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance and repair work, with experience in a similar role or environment.

The salary for this position is approximately £39,000 per annum, plus benefits including holiday pay, full interview preparation and assistance, and a recommend a friend scheme earning up to £250.
