School Bus Operator

Job Summary:
Adcote School for Girls seeks an experienced driver to operate our minibus safely and efficiently, transporting pupils on five daily routes across Shropshire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect pupils from designated points, adhering to the school timetable, and return them to designated drop-off points in the evening.
- Liaise with parents for any last-minute changes or updates.
- Ensure compliance with Vehicle Operator Licence regulations and Vehicle Maintenance schedules.
- Conduct daily walk-around checks, sweep the vehicle after each run, and maintain cleanliness of the minibus.
- Check oil and fluid levels, fuel, and perform other routine maintenance tasks as specified by the Operations Manager.
- Monitor and maintain accurate records of vehicle usage and mileage.
- Develop and maintain close relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to ensure a smooth and safe transportation experience.
- Foster a positive and supportive environment, promoting the well-being of pupils in your care.
- Stay up-to-date with school policies, especially those related to child protection and safeguarding.
Requirements:
- A clean, current D1 driving licence with no 101 restriction and a strong driving record.
- High organisational competency and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate a proactive and flexible approach to work, with a commitment to the safety and well-being of pupils.
- A positive, friendly, and approachable personality, with excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, providing support and assistance when needed.
