Shrewsbury School is seeking a highly motivated FACILITIES MAINTENANCE WORKER to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing first-line and general site support services to the Works Department Trades and the School as a whole.

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, and Saturday mornings on a rotational basis.

The salary for this role is up to £25,698 per annum, plus generous benefits including enhanced holiday entitlement and pension contributions, life insurance, free school lunch when kitchens are operational, free car parking and access to on-site facilities such as the library, swimming pool, gym, tennis courts and squash courts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing maintenance support to building trades
  • Completing tasks such as DIY skills, arduous tasks and basic vehicle maintenance
  • Undertaking first-line assistance with the School Vehicle Fleet
  • Performing preventative maintenance works, Portable Appliance Testing (training provided if required), recycling, collecting and delivering materials, furniture and other general maintenance tasks

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting building trades and DIY skills
  • Able to complete arduous tasks
  • Hold a full driving licence
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance
  • Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team
