About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Health Consultant to join our team at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our public health function, you will play a vital role in leading and contributing to work at Local Authority, ICS, and Place Based Partnership level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the public health function of Nottingham City Council in analyzing Trust healthcare data to inform the development of outcomes measures and indicators.
  • Contribute to reducing inappropriate clinical variation and equity of access to Trust services as part of reducing Health Inequalities.
  • Work with evolving health system-wide plans (ICS and PBPs) and transformation work, including population health management and risk stratification skills.
  • Develop and implement the Trust's prevention framework and approach to tackling health inequalities.
  • Support the intelligent use of national, regional, and local benchmarking and variation information to improve clinical management.
  • Support the City Council and Trust specialist training functions and locations for public health.

Person Specification

  • Inclusion in the GMC Full and Specialist Register with a license to practice/GDC Specialist List or inclusion in the UK Public Health Register (UKPHR) for Public Health Specialists at the point of application.
  • Hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
  • Hold a Master's in Public Health or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of interfaces between health, social care, and key partners (dealing with wider determinants of health).
  • Understanding of the public sector duty and the inequality duty and their application to public health practice.
  • Strategic thinker with proven leadership skills and operational nous.
  • Able to demonstrate and motivate organizations to contribute to improving the public's health and wellbeing through mainstream activities and within resources.
