Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Health Officer to join our team at Leicestershire County Council. As an Environmental Health Officer, you will play a critical role in protecting the health and wellbeing of our citizens by enforcing environmental health regulations and promoting public health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enforce Environmental Health Regulations: Conduct inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with environmental health laws and regulations.
- Investigate Complex Cases: Investigate complaints and incidents related to environmental health, including food safety, housing standards, and environmental protection.
- Advise and Educate: Provide guidance and support to businesses and the public on environmental health matters, promoting best practices and compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with Partners: Work with local, regional, and national partners to contribute to multi-agency initiatives that safeguard public health.
- Take Charge of Prosecutions: Lead compliance efforts and ensure adherence to critical environmental health legislation.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Degree or diploma in Environmental Health and a certificate of registration from the EHRB (or equivalent).
- Experience: Experienced in regulatory enforcement, with comprehensive knowledge of environmental health legislation across domains like food safety, housing, and environmental protection.
- Skills: Effective communicator, problem solver, and team-oriented leader.
