About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Health and Safety Lead to join our team at CHEP. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of our employees and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Health and Safety Leadership
    • Develop and implement effective health and safety strategies to prevent injuries and occupational ill health.
    • Comply with all relevant health and safety laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Safety Management Systems
    • Implement and maintain robust safety management systems, including 1-CHEP OSH&E Systems and Gap Audits & Action Plans.
    • Monitor and report on safety performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Employee Engagement and Development
    • Lead and develop our Safety Differently philosophy across the network, promoting a culture of safety and wellbeing.
    • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance employee occupational health and safety competencies.
  • Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis
    • Lead and facilitate root cause investigations on incidents and near misses, identifying and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
    • Share best practices and lessons learned across the network to drive continuous improvement.
  • Wellbeing Initiatives
    • Develop and implement employee wellbeing initiatives, including safety week and occupational health assessments.
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of wellbeing initiatives, making recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
  • Qualifications and Experience
    • NEBOSH General qualification or equivalent.
    • Proven experience in health and safety management, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Skills and Competencies
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and drive continuous improvement.
    • Ability to work well under pressure, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
