Senior Social Work Manager

Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Team Manager for the Children's Locality Team, with a primary focus on CLA, CP/CWD, and Care Leavers. This critical role is designed to enhance social work practice and uphold practice standards within Knowsley's Children's Social Care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Development: Guide and motivate social workers, building on Ofsted's benchmarks to foster a culture of high standards, transparency, and continuous improvement.
- Quality Assurance & Supervision: Oversee daily operations, including legal meetings, court requirements, and strategic processes. Implement audits and review policies to address quality gaps and apply learning outcomes.
- Practice Improvement: Engage in quality assurance initiatives, introducing new policies to improve outcomes for children and families. Track impact and effectiveness of these initiatives to ensure long-term benefits.
- Training & Policy Adherence: Support staff in understanding and following new processes and policies, utilizing group supervision for cohesive learning.
- Inspection Preparation: Collaborate with team managers to prepare for inspections, addressing any findings to enhance future practices.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Qualifications: Qualified Social Worker with registration from Social Work England.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years as a child and family social worker, ideally with a background in staff development (e.g., ASYE support, performance management, supervision).
- Skills & Competencies: Proven track record in leadership, fostering an innovative culture, and leading change management initiatives. Ability to assess complex information, identify trends, and apply insights to practice improvements. Knowledge of policies, regulations, and outcomes from safeguarding reviews on a national and local level.
