About the Role

This Maintenance Technician role at Thorn Baker Construction focuses on ensuring the smooth operation of our modular fleet. We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance tasks on our modular fleet as directed by the Maintenance Manager or Supervisor.
  • Handle the role in a professional manner, representing Thorn Baker Construction with face-to-face contact with clients on-site.
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed at each job and signatures are received.
  • Collect materials from suppliers or company depots as per arrangements.
  • Maintain a site diary.
  • Be responsible for coordinating own tools, PPE, van, parking permits, and London Congestion Charge as required.
  • Assist in installations, uplifts, and site surveys as needed.
  • Be flexible to work outside of regular hours, such as weekends and outside core hours, if site requirements demand it.
  • Carry out refurbishment work if required and attend site meetings/divisional meetings as requested.
  • Be proactive in communications with internal and external clients.

Requirements

This Maintenance Technician role requires:

  • Good building and maintenance knowledge within the modular marketplace.
  • Trades experience in Joinery, Roofing, Plumbing, and Electrical.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • IPAF and PASMA-trained H&S awareness.
  • Ability to prepare RAMs and other associated safety paperwork.
  • Good communication skills, including Microsoft packages and Aftercare online portal system.
  • Full, clean, driving license, CSCS card, and DBS clearance.
  • Working at Height experience, including use of access equipment such as MEWPs, Scissor Lifts, and Scaffold Towers.
