About the Role

As a Child Development Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work with children and young people aged 4-18 in Place2Be partner schools. We are looking for a dedicated individual who is passionate about improving the mental health and wellbeing of children.

Job Description

We offer a comprehensive induction programme and clinical supervision is undertaken at the end of each day. You will be working in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children offering one-to-one counselling. The placement is term time only and runs for one academic year.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emotional and therapeutic support to children and young people aged 4-18
  • Work in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children offering one-to-one counselling
  • Attend up to six optional workshops throughout the year which are recognised as continuing professional development time
  • Sessions spent with children are accepted as clinical hours towards professional accreditation
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Diploma in Counselling (Level 4 or above)
  • Relevant experience of direct work with children
