Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Underwriter to join our North America Professional Lines team at Chubb Global Markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Underwrite new business and renewals in accordance with the business plan and within the assigned underwriting authority, ensuring financial goals are met.
  • Assist in formulating underwriting strategy, forecasts, and portfolio management to maintain underwriting profitability.
  • Represent and promote Chubb corporately through maintaining relationships with customers, brokers, business partners, and colleagues to achieve business objectives.
  • Contribute to meetings to share and develop strategy, knowledge, and best practice, and work closely with Underwriting and Operations to drive improved operational efficiencies.
  • Meet company standards in respect of policy documentation, timeframe for quoting new and renewal business, and compliance issues.
  • Build and maintain a strong external reputation by behaving in a manner consistent with Chubb's core values and culture both internally and externally.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of class-specific underwriting and insurance knowledge, and stay up-to-date with US legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Hold a strong academic background, preferably with a professional qualification such as ACII, and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills, and demonstrate the ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and prioritize effectively.
  • Display a collaborative mindset, with the ability to work on own initiative, and demonstrate a driven, high-energy approach with a strong commitment, passion, and ambition.
