About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Capital Project Planner to join our team at Southern Water. As a key member of our Project Management Office (PMO), you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and performance managing programme schedules using Primavera P6.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop programme schedules following best practice work breakdown structures and report coding specific to Southern Water requirements.
  • Conduct forensic programme analysis and provide findings with recommendations.
  • Manage programme schedules for complex and inter-related projects and programmes, including resource scheduling, risk management, cost-loaded programmes, and earned value analysis.
  • Develop programme schedule baselines to track and performance manage against SW gateway milestones and regulatory outcomes.
  • Support the standardisation and streamlining of reporting processes, including continuous improvement of tools and techniques.
  • Create project-specific programme summary reports and insights to inform business decision-making.
  • Interrogate contractor-submitted programmes for acceptance, summarise findings, and present to the project team on actions required for compliance.
  • Coordinate and manage stakeholders to provide consistent and clear information specific to programme schedules.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience working in projects with planning and control responsibilities, as well as a good demonstration of knowledge in the application of data and process controls. You will be an expert in P6 and other programme enterprise project portfolio management software, with a strong working knowledge of the NEC suite of conditions of contract. You will also have a good understanding of APM/Prince II methodology and be a proficient user of Microsoft Office suite of applications.

Desirable Qualifications

A degree in a relevant field, such as civil or construction engineering, or demonstrable experience and track record operating in a similar role with proven professional development courses. Chartered status with a relevant professional body is highly desirable.
