About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Capital Project Planner to join our team at Southern Water. As a key member of our Programme Management Office (PMO), you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and performance managing programme schedules using Primavera P6.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Programme Schedules: Create programme schedules following best practice work breakdown structures and report coding specific to Southern Water requirements.
  • Forensic Programme Analysis: Conduct thorough programme analysis and conclude findings with recommendations.
  • Programme Schedule Management: Manage complex and inter-related projects and programmes of work, including resource scheduling, risk management, cost-loaded programmes, and earned value analysis.
  • Development of Programme Schedule Baselines: Create programme schedule baselines to track and performance manage against SW gateway milestones and regulatory outcomes.
  • Standardisation and Streamlining: Support the standardisation and streamlining of reporting processes, including continuous improvement of tools and techniques.
  • Project Specific Programme Summary Reports: Create project-specific programme summary reports and insights needed to inform business decision-making.
  • Contractor Programme Interrogation: Interrogate contractor-submitted programmes for acceptance, summarise findings, and present to the project team on actions required for compliance.
  • Stakeholder Coordination and Management: Coordinate and manage stakeholders to provide consistent and clear information specific to programme schedules.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven Experience: Proven experience working in projects, including planning and control responsibilities, with good demonstration knowledge in the application of data and process controls.
  • Expertise in P6: Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 and other programme enterprise project portfolio management software.
  • NEC Suite of Conditions: Strong working knowledge of the NEC suite of conditions of contract.
  • APM/Prince II Methodology: Good understanding of APM/Prince II methodology.
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Proficient user of Microsoft Office suite of applications.
Desirable Qualifications

Preferably degree-educated with a civil or construction sector background, or demonstrable experience and track record operating in a similar role with proven professional development courses. Water experience and chartered status with a relevant professional body are highly desirable.
