Job Summary

Dr Mahbub's Surgery, Brace Street Health Centre, is a well-established and friendly medical practice seeking a dedicated and compassionate Salaried General Practitioner to join our supportive team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive medical care to patients in a primary care setting.
  • Conduct face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations.
  • Manage a range of acute and chronic conditions.
  • Participate in practice meetings and contribute to the development of the surgery.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and appraisal activities.
About Us

We are a small, well-established medical practice serving a patient population of approximately 3,300. We are committed to providing high-quality patient care and are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Salaried General Practitioner to work 4 sessions per week over two days.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
  • Report to the GP Partner (Clinically) and to the Practice Manager (Administratively)
  • Undertake a variety of duties including face-to-face surgery consultations, e-consult and video consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, and dealing with queries, paperwork, reports, and correspondence in a timely fashion.
  • Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organization.
  • Assess the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
  • Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
  • Develop care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.
  • Provide counseling and health education.
  • Admit or discharge patients to and from the caseload and refer to other care providers as appropriate.
  • Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
  • Collect data for audit purposes and comply with QOF requirements.
  • Deliver enhanced services.
  • Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
  • Prescribe in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.
Other Responsibilities
  • Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health, and safety.
  • A commitment to lifelong learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice.
  • Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organization.
  • Contributing to the development of computer-based patient records.
  • Contributing to the summarizing of patient records and Read-Coding patient data.
  • Attending training and events organized by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.
