About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Fleet Workshop Manager to join our Royal Mail Fleet team. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of cultural change and be accountable for the performance of our Fleet Workshops.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Ensure compliance with legal and safety policies, meeting safety targets, and delivering maintenance services while optimizing cost performance and forecasting through resource planning and booking tools.
  2. Optimize the efficiency of Fleet Workshops to meet industry standard performance levels and deploy changes relating to Fleet Workshops.
  3. Effectively engage, communicate, and coach to support and develop the Fleet Workshop team.
  4. Be accountable for achieving all agreed targets, including internal customer targets with SLAs, through effective performance management techniques.
  5. Actively deploy, manage, and support the maintenance of ISO 9001 quality standard within Fleet Workshops and support Continuous Improvement activity within the Workshops.
  6. Manage the local IR interface, working collaboratively with union colleagues to deliver change.
  7. Be responsible for any mobile sites and sub-locations under the control of the Workshop and/or Cluster.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to be fully qualified to at least advanced level (IMI Level 3) in Light or Heavy vehicle maintenance & repair or an equivalent qualification. You will also need to have relevant industry knowledge and experience of dispersed maintenance operations.

We are looking for a strong leader who can drive performance improvement, lead, develop, and coach to achieve business objectives. You will need to be flexible to ensure effective cover across multiple shift operations and may be required to travel to other sites within your area of responsibility.
