About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Service Engineer to join our team at Nationwide Platforms. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our fleet and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Location Service Manager in maintaining the day-to-day running of the workshop, ensuring efficient operations and high-quality service delivery.
  • Ensure 100% coverage for the servicing and maintenance of our modern hire fleet, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct pre-delivery inspections (PDI) of each machine, ensuring they meet our corporate standards.
  • Produce monthly plant inspection reports and service schedules, coordinating the workload of engineers to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain the appearance of the fleet to corporate standards, ensuring a professional image.
  • Provide guidance and support to customers in response to breakdown calls, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
  • Locate spares required, ensuring CE rating compliance where applicable.
  • Adhere to the guidelines set out in the Quality and Health and Safety policy, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Maintain basic stock control systems for workshop spares, ensuring efficient inventory management.
  • Identify training and development needs of workshop personnel, supporting their growth and development.
  • Offer technical assistance and advice to depot engineers, fostering a collaborative team environment.
About You
  • Supervisory experience in a busy workshop, with the ability to set high standards and lead by example.
  • Previous experience in the Powered Access industry or other construction plant hire, with a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a maintenance/engineering discipline, with a passion for continuous learning.
  • The ability to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure, with excellent time management skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on excellent customer service and communication.
