About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Service Engineer to join our team at Nationwide Platforms. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our fleet and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Location Service Manager in maintaining the day-to-day efficiency of our busy workshop.
  • Ensure 100% coverage for the servicing and maintenance of our modern hire fleet, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct pre-delivery inspections (PDI) of each machine, either at depot or on-site as required.
  • Produce monthly plant inspection reports and service schedules, and coordinate the workload of engineers to ensure all tasks are completed on time.
  • Maintain the appearance of the fleet to corporate standards, ensuring a high level of quality and presentation.
  • Provide guidance and support in response to customer breakdown calls, prioritizing their needs and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Source spares required, ensuring CE rating compliance where applicable.
  • Adhere to the guidelines set out in our Quality and Health and Safety policy, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Manage the basic stock control system for workshop spares, maintaining accurate records and minimizing waste.
  • Identify training and development needs of workshop personnel, supporting their growth and development.
  • Offer technical assistance and advice to depot engineers, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
About You
  • Proven supervisory experience in a busy workshop, with a track record of setting high standards and driving excellence.
  • Previous experience in the Powered Access industry or other construction plant hire, with a deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a maintenance/engineering discipline, with a strong foundation in technical knowledge.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure.
  • Good understanding of the importance of excellent customer service, with a customer-centric approach.
