About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Service Engineer to join our team at Nationwide Platforms. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our fleet and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Location Service Manager in maintaining the day-to-day efficiency of our busy workshop.
  • Ensure 100% coverage for the servicing and maintenance of our modern hire fleet, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct thorough pre-delivery inspections (PDI) of each machine, either at depot or on-site as required.
  • Produce monthly plant inspection reports and service schedules, and coordinate the workload of engineers to ensure all tasks are completed on time.
  • Maintain the appearance of the fleet to corporate standards, ensuring a high level of quality and presentation.
  • Provide guidance and support in response to customer breakdown calls, prioritizing their needs and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Source and procure spares as required, ensuring compliance with CE ratings and other relevant regulations.
  • Adhere to the guidelines outlined in our Quality and Health and Safety policy, promoting a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Manage the basic stock control system for workshop spares, ensuring accurate inventory levels and minimizing waste.
  • Identify training and development needs for workshop personnel, providing support and guidance to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Offer technical assistance and advice to depot engineers, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
About You
  • Proven supervisory experience in a busy workshop, with a track record of setting high standards and driving team performance.
  • Previous experience in the Powered Access industry or other construction plant hire, with a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Hold a relevant qualification, such as NVQ level 3 or equivalent, in a maintenance or engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrate excellent prioritization and time management skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Possess good interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on customer service and a commitment to delivering exceptional results.
