Job Title: Band 7 Quality Governance Manager

The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Governance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our quality governance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and Implement Governance Frameworks: Work closely with the Head of Quality Governance to develop and implement effective governance frameworks that ensure robust divisional governance in line with national best practice.
  2. Lead Divisional Governance Activities: Manage the divisional governance staff in dealing with all activities related to patient safety, risk, compliance, and audit, and act as the lead and central point of contact for divisional governance activities.
  3. Horizon Scan and Trend Analysis: Act as a leader who horizon scans to ensure divisional governance activities remain in line with Trust standards and expectations, and supports the development of a culture of informed questioning, challenge, trend analysis, and information triangulation.
  4. Collaborate with Quality Governance Teams: Work closely with the quality governance, operational, and corporate management teams and staff at all levels of the organisation to ensure the delivery of the rolling programme of governance activities in line with trust, hospital, division, and service requirements.
  5. Provide Specialist Advice: Provide specialist advice on quality assurance around patient safety and clinical governance, and analyse complex information from incident investigations and audits to support the establishment of appropriate action plans.
  6. Lead Patient Safety Events: Lead the management of patient safety events and the sharing of learning from these events, including reviewing and ensuring that investigations are appropriately carried out in accordance with agreed guidelines and timeframes.
  7. Embed Learning from Deaths Policy: Support the Head of Quality Governance in ensuring that the Learning from Deaths policy is embedded in the hospital site, with a process for regular robust reviews.
  8. Culture of Openness and Transparency: Encourage a culture of openness and transparency that responds rapidly to potential or actual failures, and supports the oversight and coordination of the hospital participation and implementation of recommendations from NCEPOD and NatSSIPs 2.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in quality governance, patient safety, and clinical governance, and will be able to demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills.
