About the Job

The ideal candidate will contribute significantly to the SDA In-Service Submarines Platform Engineering Team's success by focusing on the structural integrity of in-service submarines. Key duties involve setting Design Authority Requirements (DAR) for various activities and evaluating the impact of OPDEFs.

The anticipated salary for this position is approximately £62,000 per year, factoring in the location and industry norms.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Determining the condition of structural elements and assisting Struct2 in maintaining design intent for fasteners, hatches, and LETs.
  2. Issuing Design Authority Requirements (DAR) for surveys, repairs, and concessions concerning structural strength.
  3. Investigating OPDEFs' effects on the Struct2 areas of responsibility and offering guidance to operators to mitigate potential risks.
Essential Qualifications
  • Compliance with current SDA Policy Professionalisation of the SDA Engineering Function.
  • Nuclear Introductory Course completion.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a maritime post.
