Academic Support Specialist

As an Academic Support Specialist, you will play a vital part in providing tailored educational support to students who require alternative education arrangements. This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires patience, empathy, and creativity.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering 1:1 lessons, creating individual learning plans, and working closely with pupils to help them achieve their academic goals. You will also be required to maintain accurate records of pupil progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
This is an ongoing placement, and the hours will vary depending on the needs of each student. You can expect to earn between £25-£30 per hour, depending on your experience and qualifications.
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- A proven track record of working with students with special educational needs (SEN) on a 1:1 or small group basis.
- QTS is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience of working with challenging behaviour and disengaged pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality 1:1 lessons to students with SEN.
- Create and implement individual learning plans.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders.
