Residential Youth Care Specialist

Join Shire Healthcare as a Residential Youth Care Specialist and contribute to providing exceptional care to vulnerable children. This permanent role involves working 37 hours per week plus 6 sleep ins per month.

As a Residential Youth Care Specialist, you will work closely with the team to ensure the well-being of children and staff. Previous experience as a senior is not mandatory, but a Level 3 / 4 in Residential Childcare or equivalent is required.

Our estimated annual salary for this position is £23,555 - £26,300, dependent on experience, with an additional £40 paid per sleep in. Applicants must hold a valid driving license and have access to a personal vehicle.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Prioritise staff meetings and supervisions to maintain open communication.
  • Make informed decisions about the welfare of children and staff during shifts.
  • Address staffing matters with the Manager, ensuring a collaborative approach.
  • Keep team members updated on procedural changes.
  • Offer person-centred support to meet individual needs.
  • Raise concerns regarding potential child abuse risks.
